The Junior Rifle program is open to all youth from 11-20 years of age who have an interest in the shooting sports. These young shooters are instructed in rifle safety and marksmanship along with the correct fundamentals for competitive shooting. There are various shooting competitions around the state that the Juniors are able to compete in. All equipment used is furnished by the club including .22 cal. target rifles and ammunition. The Juniors earn NRA awards during the season as their skills improve. At season's end, the club sponsors a banquet and awards trophies to top competitors in each age category. The Junior Rifle program runs from September to May with range shooting on Thursday evenings. A small fee is charged to help cover the cost of awards and equipment upkeep. The Junior Rifle program is an excellent opportunity to get youth interested in the shooting sports and to prepare them for adult membership with its benefits and responsibilities.
